Pieter Ferreira Cap Classique Rosé 2016 is an attractive salmon colour with a vibrant yet fine persistent bead of mousse. This release of Rose offers wonderful balance, ripe fruit some perfume and restraint. A delicate floral perfume in the glass before offering pomegranate and cherries with a hint of summer fruits. Refreshing acidity and smooth bubbles make this a particularly food friendly. Delicate yeasty tones, layered with red berry fruit fills the palate with complexity. White gold in colour. Cape fynbos, cardamom spice, lemongrass, white pepper and khakibos (citrus oil floral note) on first swirl. Crushed shell, a dusty earthiness, stone-like minerality and notes of pear, white flowers and gooseberry follow on the nose. Delicate entry, creamy on the mid-palate. A beautiful delicacy on the nose with aromas of black cherries dried cranberry’s herbs as well as a hint of crushed rose petal. The Shiraz lends some meaty nuances and peppery spice to the blend while the Cinsault is responsible for the wonderfully fragrant aromatics. Keermont Syrah 2017 has a bright red colour with a lighter hue. The bouquet is explosive with spicy red fruit and notes of sandalwood, tea leaf, cloves, and orange rind. The wine has a dry, gentle entry onto the palate, and opens up with cherry and raspberry flavours complimented by savoury spice and a black pepper note. A vibrant deeper red colour. On the nose it is savoury and wild, with red berries, lavender, thyme and rosemary. It is inky and wild but has a beautiful freshness, and concentration on the mid palate. It has a meaty character, entwined with rich dark spice and chocolate. It is elegantly powerful with a youthful freshness, yet a deep concentration, and a structured firm tannin profile, making sure this wine will last for many years.
